Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Afternoon Care Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will provide engaging, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for children during afternoon hours, fostering a safe and stimulating environment that promotes growth, learning, and social-emotional development. Duties

• Supervise children during afternoon hours, ensuring their safety through attentive child supervision and behavior management.
• Implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including play-based learning and social interaction.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, behavior, and daily experiences to foster strong partnerships.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that supports early childhood education standards and safety protocols.
• Follow all mandated reporting laws and health guidelines, including pediatric first aid and CPR procedures, to ensure children's well-being.
• Assist with classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and supporting individual needs of children with diverse abilities.
• Collaborate with team members to plan curriculum activities that align with child development instruction principles and early childhood education best practices.

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in daycare centers, preschools, or similar early childhood settings is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development stages, toddler care, and preschool curriculum is preferred.
• Demonstrated classroom management skills and experience implementing behavior management strategies are important.
• Certification in first aid, pediatric first aid, CPR, or related health & safety training is required or highly desirable.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly with parents and team members while maintaining professionalism in a childcare environment.
• Previous nannying or babysitting experience working with young children can be beneficial in understanding individual child needs.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
