About the role

Little Genius Seberang Jaya (Islamic preschool) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This is a full-time position based in Seberang Jaya, Penang. As a Teacher in early childhood education, you will play a vital role in nurturing and developing young minds during their foundational years. You will be responsible for creating a stimulating, safe and inclusive learning environment where children can grow intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically. This position is central to our mission of providing high-quality early childhood education and care.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate activities and lessons tailored to the needs and interests of young children
• Create a warm, welcoming and nurturing classroom environment that promotes curiosity, creativity and confidence
• Observe and assess children's development and progress, maintaining detailed records and identifying areas for growth
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child's development, behaviour and achievements
• Foster positive behaviour and implement consistent discipline strategies that are age-appropriate and supportive
• Supervise children during play, meals, rest time and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a cohesive early childhood programme and support team initiatives
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation and safety standards in the classroom and learning areas
• Participate in professional development opportunities and stay current with early childhood education best practices

What we're looking for

• Qualification in Early Childhood Education, Childcare or a related field from an accredited institution
• Valid teaching or childcare certification/credentials as required by local regulations
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting
• Strong passion for working with children and commitment to their holistic development
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and preferably Bahasa Malaysia
• Patient, creative and flexible approach to teaching and problem-solving
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing situations in a dynamic classroom environment
• Sound understanding of child development theories and early childhood pedagogies
• able to read and recite al-Quran
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and other stakeholders
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• teach and guide children's to do salat (prayers)
