Teacher

The Town of Enfield Child Development Center (ECDC) is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Teacher to join our team. ECDC is a NAEYC-accredited early childhood program committed to providing high-quality care and education in a supportive, engaging environment.

The Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment where children can learn, grow, and build positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences based on the needs and interests of the children.
• Create a positive, welcoming classroom environment that supports children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Use positive guidance and classroom management strategies to support appropriate behavior and social-emotional growth.
• Observe and document children's development and progress using CT DOTS and other program assessment tools.
• Maintain consistent classroom routines, supervision, and adherence to health and safety requirements.
• Build positive, professional relationships with children and families.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, administrators, and community partners to meet the individual needs of children.
• Participate as an active member of the ECDC team and support the Center's commitment to high-quality early childhood education.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in an early childhood, preschool, or licensed childcare setting.
• Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with children with a variety of developmental, behavioral, and learning needs.
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field preferred.
• Commitment to providing a safe, respectful, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children.

Pay: From $46,000.00 per year
