Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to students’ unique needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, visual impairments, or other special education requirements
• Integrate speech therapy, behavioral therapy, music therapy, and recreational therapy techniques into daily instruction to support holistic student development
• Utilize educational technology tools and learning software to create engaging lessons that promote literacy, math skills, and early childhood development
• Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management strategies and instructional modifications aligned with IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals and special education law
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, conduct assessments, and prepare reports for parent communication and compliance purposes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, behavioral specialists, therapists, and other educators to ensure cohesive support for each student
• Support classroom management by creating a safe, nurturing environment that encourages curiosity and active participation among students

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; advanced certifications in special education or early childhood education preferred
• Proven experience working with children or students with disabilities in classroom settings or specialized programs
• Knowledge of curriculum development tailored for diverse learners including those with autism, developmental disabilities, or visual impairments
• Familiarity with instructional design, lesson planning, standardized testing, and educational compliance regulations
• Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and collaboration with colleagues
• Experience implementing instructional modifications and understanding of special education law (such as IEPs)
• Ability to adapt teaching methods using educational technology tools and learning software to meet individual student needs
