The ideal candidate will enjoy working hands-on with children and be comfortable supporting a variety of developmental, communication, sensory, social, academic, and behavioral needs. Experience working with children with autism, ADHD, developmental delays, or other disabilities is highly valued.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide one-on-one and small-group support to children throughout the day.
- Assist with structured learning activities, play-based learning, academics, social skills, communication, and daily living skills.
- Support children with transitions, routines, emotional regulation, sensory needs, and appropriate peer interactions.
- Use positive reinforcement, prompting, redirection, visual supports, and other individualized teaching strategies as directed.
- Encourage independence, functional communication, self-advocacy, and age-appropriate life skills.
- Assist children who use AAC or other alternative communication methods.
- Maintain a safe, patient, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in community-based and recreational activities when applicable.
- Document relevant progress, behaviors, incidents, and daily information accurately.
- Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, supervisors, and other professionals.
- Follow all Wonderfully Wired policies regarding safety, confidentiality, supervision, and child care.
- Participate in staff training and professional development.
- Assist with classroom organization, cleaning, preparation of materials, and other duties necessary for daily operations.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred. RBT, education, special education, early childhood, psychology, recreational therapy, social work, child development, or a related background is a plus. AAC experience, Montessori training, behavioral-support experience, or experience implementing individualized learning plans is also valued.
We are looking for someone who is patient, reliable, playful, compassionate, teachable, and genuinely passionate about helping children succeed. Candidates must be comfortable working with children who may require significant communication, sensory, behavioral, or daily-living support.
At Wonderfully Wired, we believe differences should be understood, strengths should be celebrated, and every child deserves a place where they belong.
