Teacher – Early Childhood Education

Head Start of Rockland, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated Teachers to create engaging, nurturing, and inclusive learning environments where young children can learn, explore, and grow.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement creative, developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
• Foster early literacy, math, language, and social-emotional development through hands-on, play-based learning.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom for children of all abilities.
• Individualize instruction to support children with diverse learning needs, including children with disabilities.
• Monitor and document children's developmental progress.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Collaborate with education specialists and support staff to help every child succeed.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment using effective guidance and behavior management strategies.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field.
• Appropriate New York State teaching certification or qualifications for the assigned program.
• Experience teaching preschool-aged children.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate teaching practices.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to support children with diverse abilities and developmental needs.
• A positive attitude, creativity, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with children.

Pay: $25.22 - $30.37 per hour
