At Kingdom Kids, we believe every child deserves a safe, loving, nurturing, and engaging environment where they can learn, grow, and develop. Our program combines early childhood education with Christian values and Bible-based learning to support children’s spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

We are looking for an educator who has a genuine passion for working with young children, demonstrates professionalism, values teamwork, and is committed to providing high-quality care and meaningful learning experiences.

The ideal candidate will be patient, creative, enthusiastic, reliable, and willing to contribute positively to our faith-based learning community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, nurturing, positive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for all children.
  • Actively supervise children throughout the day, including during classroom activities, meals, rest periods, outdoor play, and transitions.
  • Implement the established academic and Bible-based curriculum to support children’s spiritual, cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
  • Develop and maintain written weekly and monthly lesson plans that include age-appropriate, engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
  • Follow daily classroom schedules and prepare and distribute monthly classroom calendars.
  • Plan and facilitate creative educational activities, including music, movement, art, sensory play, Bible lessons, and outdoor experiences.
  • Provide daily opportunities for physical activity, including morning and afternoon outdoor play, gym activities, or walks.
  • Assist children with daily care routines, including meals, snacks, toileting, diapering, handwashing, and rest periods.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary, and welcoming classroom, including cleaning and sanitizing toys, equipment, bathrooms, eating areas, and rest materials.
  • Prepare, distribute, and clean up meals and snacks while following established health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • Implement positive behavior guidance strategies, model appropriate behavior, and redirect challenging behaviors in a respectful, developmentally appropriate manner.
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with children and families while demonstrating patience, kindness, professionalism, and respect.
  • Complete required daily and weekly child reports, classroom documentation, and family communications using designated systems, including Procare.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information involving children, families, staff, and program operations.
  • Monitor children’s individual needs, communicate concerns to the Director, and follow all required procedures for reporting suspected child abuse or neglect.
  • Follow all Kingdom Kids policies, classroom procedures, Indiana childcare ministry requirements, and applicable health and safety standards.
  • Maintain required certifications and training, including CPR, First Aid, Universal Precautions, and a minimum of 12 annual professional development hours as outlined in the program’s job description.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings, professional development workshops, and required training sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, the Director, and other staff members to maintain a positive, organized, and supportive team environment.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, punctuality, enthusiasm, flexibility, and a positive attitude in daily interactions and responsibilities.
  • Assist with classroom coverage, special events, field trips, and other program activities as needed.
  • Support the Christian mission and values of Faith United Methodist Church by modeling kindness, compassion, respect, and positive character.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director to support the successful daily operation of Kingdom Kids Early Learning Center.
