Job Summary

The Nest Early Learning Center is looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Childcare Teacher to join our team! We are passionate about providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, building positive relationships with families, and collaborating with a supportive team. Our teachers help create meaningful learning experiences through play, hands-on activities, and age-appropriate curriculum while supporting each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

We are looking for someone who is patient, reliable, flexible, and excited to make a difference in the lives of young children. If you love helping little minds grow and want to be part of a team that makes a difference every day, we would love to meet you!

Join The Nest Early Learning Center and help our little learners spread their wings!

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children.
  • Plan and participate in age-appropriate learning activities, crafts, and hands-on experiences.
  • Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Supervise children at all times and maintain classroom safety.
  • Follow daily schedules and established classroom routines.
  • Assist with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, and other daily care needs as appropriate for the age group.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow team members.
  • Communicate with families about children's daily activities, progress, and needs.
  • Observe and document children's development and learning.
  • Follow center policies, state licensing regulations, and health and safety procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with coworkers and assist in other classrooms when needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Encourage positive behavior through patience, redirection, and age-appropriate guidance.
  • Help create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Qualifications (Preferred, but Not Required)

  • Previous experience working with children in a childcare center, preschool, or similar setting.
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) coursework or a background in child development.
  • CDA credential or a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate activities, classroom routines, and positive behavior guidance.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable, patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with coworkers and build positive relationships with families.
  • Willingness to learn, participate in training, and follow center policies and state licensing requirements.
  • Must meet applicable Iowa childcare employment and background check requirements.

No prior childcare experience or early childhood education credentials? That's okay! We're happy to consider motivated individuals who are eager to learn, grow, and make a difference in children's lives. We can help you develop the skills you need to succeed!

Join us in shaping the future by empowering young minds through innovative teaching practices! This role is ideal for educators committed to fostering growth in all learners while embracing a collaborative team environment dedicated to excellence in education.
