Teacher- Secondary Section | Virar

• Adhere to state and national teaching standards and prepare lessons that educate students in core subjects
• Deliver lectures and distribute assignments that engage students
• Grade assignments and provide feedback for improvement
• Meet with students individually to assess progress and find new strategies for success
• Create classroom rules and uphold expectations
• Mentor students by supporting their growth and helping them pursue their post-graduation plans
• Host meetings with parents or other faculty members as needed to identify student barriers to success
• Help with after-school activities, such as supervising student-led clubs or sports
• Classroom management
• Curriculum, instruction and assessment
• Preparing lesson plans in the assigned content area to teach required learning objectives
• Assigning and grading projects, assignments and tests
• Assessing students’ skills and knowledge regularly
• Creating and enforcing classroom rules, policies and procedures
• Supervising students and addressing behavior issues inside the classroom and at other times, such as lunch period
• Helping individual students who are behind or struggling to learn the content
• Collaborating with other High School Teachers to develop lesson plans and improve the learning process
• Communicating with students and parents about student progress
