Teacher's Assistant

Position Summary
DiscoverTree Childcare Center is seeking a caring, reliable, and motivated Teacher’s Assistant to support our classroom teachers in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. The Teacher’s Assistant helps implement daily activities, supports children’s development, and ensures the classroom runs smoothly while maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily classroom routines, activities, and curriculum
• Help create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children
• Supervise children during play, meals, rest time, and outdoor activities
• Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs
• Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and cleaning tasks
• Help children with basic needs such as handwashing, toileting, dressing, and eating
• Maintain active supervision and ensure all health and safety policies are followed
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, staff, and families
• Work collaboratively with the teaching team to support a positive classroom culture
• Follow all center policies, procedures, and state childcare licensing requirements

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working with children preferred but not required
• Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from lead teachers and administration
• Positive attitude, dependable, and patient with children
• Must pass required background checks and meet state licensing requirements

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to sit on the floor, kneel, bend, and move quickly when supervising children
• Ability to actively supervise children both indoors and outdoors

Schedule
Full-time and part-time positions may be available depending on classroom needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
