Role Description Teachers at Garland ISD are responsible for planning and delivering standards-based instruction to students in an on-site, classroom setting in Garland, TX. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing lesson plans, teaching academic content, assessing student progress, and providing timely feedback to support learning. Teachers collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to create an inclusive, engaging, and safe learning environment. Additional duties may include participating in professional development, contributing to campus initiatives, and maintaining accurate records and communication. This is a full-time, on-site role.

Qualifications

• Strong instructional skills, including Teaching and Education knowledge relevant to the assigned grade level or subject area.
• Ability to design effective learning experiences, including Lesson Planning and Training skills to support diverse learners.
• Excellent Communication abilities, including clear verbal and written communication with students, families, and colleagues.
• Valid state teaching certification or eligibility for certification in the appropriate subject/grade, and a bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and cultural responsiveness in a diverse school community.
• Comfort with classroom technology and digital learning tools to enhance instruction.
• Ability to manage classrooms effectively, maintain positive relationships, and adapt instruction based on student needs.
• Previous classroom teaching experience or student teaching experience is preferred.
