Teaching Assistant Certified

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic educational team. In this role, you will support classroom instruction and foster an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and other special education requirements. Duties

• Provide direct support to students with disabilities, including physical assistance, behavioral management, and classroom support tailored to individual IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals
• Assist in implementing instructional activities related to literacy, math, and communication skills such as American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods
• Support classroom management by maintaining a positive learning environment, encouraging appropriate behavior, and applying behavior management strategies for students with behavioral disorders or autism spectrum disorders
• Collaborate closely with teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to develop and execute individualized support plans aligned with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) standards
• Handle confidential information responsibly while supporting children’s social-emotional development and educational progress
• Assist in preparing classroom materials, setting up learning activities, and providing childcare during lessons or transitions
• Support students’ developmental milestones by engaging in age-appropriate activities for toddlers through early childhood levels

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Teaching Assistant or equivalent credential in early childhood or special education
• Demonstrated experience working with children who have disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders and developmental delays
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies for students with special needs
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation processes
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with educators, parents, and specialists
• Experience working in private school settings or inclusive classrooms is preferred
• Ability to provide physical assistance as needed for students requiring mobility or behavioral support
• Knowledge of basic math concepts, literacy education strategies, and childcare best practices
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is valued

Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour
