Teaching Assistant

A supports lead instructors by managing classrooms, helping individual students or small groups, and handling administrative tasks. [1, 2]Key Responsibilities

• Instructional Support: Review coursework, run small-group or one-on-one sessions, and help students who need extra accommodation.
• Classroom Management: Set up lesson materials, organize equipment, and monitor student behavior during classes, lunch, or recess.
• Administration: Track attendance, calculate or record grades, and assist with progress reports.
• Specialized Care: Support students with special educational needs (SEND), IEP goals, or language barriers (such as ESL/ELL). [1, 2, 3]

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Typically requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent; higher-level or university TAs often need an associate or bachelor's degree.
• Skills: Strong communication, active listening, patience, adaptability, and basic computer proficiency.
• Certifications: CPR, First Aid, or specialized safeguarding/behavior management certificates are frequently preferred. [1, 2, 3, 4]
