Team Lead – Group Life Insurance

We are looking for a Team Lead – Group Life Insurance (Policy Servicing & Underwriting) to join a major player in the Life & Group Insurance sector in Brussels.

As part of an operational reinforcement (backfilling support), the consultant will be responsible for leading the Policy Servicing & Underwriting team, ensuring operational stability, improving performance monitoring, and reducing backlog while maintaining high service quality and compliance with regulatory deadlines.

Mission details

• Location: Ixelles (1050), Brussels – Hybrid work environment

• Start date: ASAP

• Duration: Approximately 4 months (full-time)

• Languages: Dutch and French fluent, English professional

Mission responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the Policy Servicing & Underwriting team in daily operations

• Ensure delivery of weekly activities according to objectives, deadlines, and service level agreements (SLA)

• Organize and facilitate weekly team meetings and performance follow-up

• Define and implement KPI monitoring and operational reporting

• Execute internal controls under the responsibility of the Team Lead

• Establish monitoring structures for the TechCom perimeter

• Develop and execute an action plan to reduce the “Not In Time” backlog

• Stabilize workload management and improve team efficiency

• Coordinate operational activities linked to key projects

• Collaborate closely with commercial, technical, and business stakeholders

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and team performance

Profile required

• Proven experience as a Team Lead, Operations Lead, or Coordinator within Life Insurance / Group Insurance

• Strong knowledge of Group Life Insurance products and processes:

  • Life, death, disability, and hospitalization coverages

  • Group insurance contracts and employee benefits

  • Regulatory and fiscal aspects related to extra-legal benefits

  • Sigedis processes and requirements

• Experience managing operational teams and service delivery activities

• Strong ability to prioritize multiple cases while respecting strict legal and contractual deadlines

• Experience with KPI management, internal controls, and process improvement

• Excellent communication skills with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders

• Strong problem-solving mindset with a hands-on and pragmatic approach
