Team Lead, Indirect Tax

About the role

Working with an emerging shared services organization, the Team Lead, Indirect Tax is responsible for supporting a Dover business segment's processing of advising clients of tax implications, tax compliance and other specific tax issues. As the Team Lead, Indirect Tax you will be charged with applying knowledge to understand potential tax issues and recognizing and communicating potential risks and potential changes in the tax policy. You will also be responsible for investigating and correcting escalated issues while maintaining positive relationships with internal and external customers, as measured by service level agreements and key performance indicators. You will be supervising a team composing of Specialists and Analysts. This position is based in Cebu, Philippines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the tax relevant financial, internal and external reporting requirements
• Actively involved in specific geographical region's tax planning and direction, team strategy, and stakeholder management
• Maintain client and stakeholder relationships
• Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders and Operating Companies
• Manage projects to meet timelines and deliverables to stakeholders
• Internal and external performance reporting
• Individual performance and career management
• Supervise a small team of Tax of Excellence Specialists and Analysts
• Lead tax process improvements projects, which may include software implementation, automation, or workpaper improvement and ongoing continuous process improvement
• Evaluate, implement and maintain emerging tax technologies

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management or related field preferred
• Minimum 5+ years of taxation or relevant experience
• 2+ years of supervisory experience
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel (Ex: Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Charts and Graphs etc.)
• Working knowledge in International Indirect Taxation (Sales + VAT) is an advantage
• Ability to navigate complex tax issues and their implications to provide written/verbal tax advice and practical recommendations
• Knowledge in emerging tax technologies
• Excellent analytical and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in managing data in Microsoft Office (Share Point)
• Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative
