Team Lead Mechanical Design

Role & responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Mechanical Design team.
• Develop mechanical layouts, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and 3D models.
• Design transformer tanks, radiators, enclosures, and core clamping structures.
• Perform structural and stress analysis.
• Review customer specifications and technical requirements.
• Ensure compliance with IS, IEC, and IEEE standards.
• Prepare BOMs and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with Production, Projects, Purchase, and Quality teams.
• Support vendor development and material selection.
• Implement design improvements and engineering change requests (ECRs).

Preferred candidate profile

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent CAD software
• Strong knowledge of transformer mechanical design and manufacturing processes
• Experience in structural analysis, stress calculations, and design optimization
• Knowledge of IS, IEC, and IEEE standards
• BOM preparation and engineering documentation
• Vendor coordination and material selection
• Leadership and team management
• Project planning and execution
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management
