Team Leader

About the role

As the Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of our Wellington recycling facility, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. You will supervise production staff, coordinate daily workloads, and help drive continuous improvement across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of 3 production staff.
• Allocate daily tasks and monitor workflow to meet production targets.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety requirements and company procedures.
• Train, mentor, and support team members to develop their skills.
• Conduct weekly toolbox meetings and communicate production priorities.
• Monitor quality standards and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Complete production records, incident reports, and other operational documentation.
• Assist with stock control, equipment checks, and housekeeping.
• Work closely with the General Manager to achieve operational goals.

About you

• Previous experience leading or supervising a team.
• Strong communication and people leadership skills.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment.
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to lead by example.
• A positive "can do" attitude.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand.
• Desirable: Experience in e-waste or resource recovery operations.
