Team Leader - ALTEN Belgium

The Position

As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Team Leader to join our teams and work on client projects located in Herstal . You You will take the lead of a team of designers and engineers, and carry the people-management duties.

As a Team Leader , your main responsibilities will include:

• Lead a team of 5 to 6 mechanical designers and engineers: daily technical steering and workload balance
• Plan resources and workload, and hold the delivery dates on drawing release
• Check drawing consistency and enforce dimensioning conventions and formalism across the team’s output
• Carry the people-management duties: annual reviews, recruitment interviews, talent reviews
• Develop your team technically — teach, mentor and raise the level of the junior designers
• Contribute to the restructuring of the office into product cells, and to the recovery of its documentation

Your profile

• Engineering degree or a strong technical background with equivalent design-office experience
• 7 to 12 years of experience, gained inside a mechanical design office rather than beside one
• You have really managed a team: workload planning, annual reviews, recruitment interviews
• You can check a drawing yourself: dimensioning conventions, tolerancing, formalism
• You come from a rigorous environment — defence, aerospace, medical, railway or automotive
• French B1/B2 minimum and English B1 minimum
• EU nationality, required by our client for this defence programme
