Team Leader

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Team Leader be responsible for managing a team of product managers to ensure smooth execution of microfinance product strategies. The role involves coordinating technology implementation, overseeing product processes, monitoring portfolio analytics, and driving business outcomes in alignment with organizational goals.

Roles & Responsibilities Strategy and Planning

• Drive execution of disbursement, repayment, and collection processes with focus on efficiency and compliance.
• Process Re-engineering, implementation and closure of audits and regulatory compliance points.
• Drive disbursement growth by defining and executing strategies to achieve monthly and annual targets across all the operational areas.
• Develop data-driven growth strategies through productivity benchmarking, portfolio analytics, trend identification and key portfilio parameters.

Policies, Processes & Procedures

• Tracking of Policy and Process adherence, gap analysis and plugging of gaps by redesigning of policy and process, liaising with stakeholders, change management.
• Process Re-engineering, implementation and closure of audits and regulatory compliance points.
• Timely internal and external reporting.
• Track product-level portfolio health including PAR, delinquency, and fresh book monitoring.
• Ensure the team in preparing MIS, dashboards, and analytical reports for management review.
• Identify emerging risks and opportunities in the portfolio to support decision-making.

Business Development

• Successful rollout of new products, process improvements, and digital initiatives.
• Adoption of digital solutions and process automation.
• Timely completion of UAT, pilot, and implementation activities.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor portfolio health (PAR, delinquency, productivity, fresh book).
• Ensure timely and accurate MIS, dashboards, and management reports.
• Track product performance and recommend corrective actions

Relationship Management

• Collaborate effectively with Risk, Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Technology teams.
• Manage relationships with BCs and service providers.
• Lead and develop the product team to achieve business objectives.

Customer Relationship Management

• Improve customer experience through efficient and seamless processes.
• Ensure timely resolution of system and process issues impacting customers.

Risk and Internal Control

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Timely closure of audit observations and compliance actions.
• Identify and mitigate operational and portfolio risks proactively.

People Management

• Training, development and capacity building of the team and least attrition
