Join Adel Square Care Home and Help Make Every Day Meaningful
At Adel Square Care Home, part of the St Mary's Care Group, we believe care is about so much more than meeting needs. It's about creating a warm, supportive environment where residents feel safe, valued, respected, and truly at home.
Our beautiful care home in Leeds provides residential, dementia, and respite care, and we're proud of the compassionate team that makes a difference to people's lives every single day. We understand that the little things, a kind word, a reassuring smile, or simply taking the time to listen, can have the greatest impact.
We're looking for a caring and dedicated Team Leader to join us on either days or nights. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who leads with kindness, supports others to deliver exceptional care, and takes pride in creating positive experiences for residents and their families.
If you're passionate about helping people live well and want to be part of a team that truly values compassion, dignity, and respect, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Team Leader, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of outstanding person-centred care. Working closely with the senior team, you'll lead by example, support colleagues, and help ensure that every resident receives the highest standard of care and support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting care teams to deliver safe, compassionate, and person-centred care.
- Assisting residents with all aspects of daily living while promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
- Supporting the induction, training, and development of new and junior team members.
- Monitoring residents' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing.
- Supporting residents with mobility needs and ensuring appropriate equipment is used safely and effectively.
- Observing and responding to changes in residents' health and wellbeing, reporting concerns promptly.
- Assisting with care planning, record keeping, and reviewing residents' changing needs.
- Supporting residents living with dementia and those who may experience confusion or behavioural challenges.
- Providing compassionate end-of-life care and supporting residents and families during difficult times.
- Encouraging participation in activities, hobbies, and meaningful social interactions.
- Communicating effectively with families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for residents.
- Acting as a role model for best practice and helping to foster a positive and supportive team culture.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for caring for older people.
- Leads with warmth, kindness, and compassion.
- Is confident supporting and motivating a team.
- Has previous experience in a Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader, or similar role.
- Is organised, dependable, and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Communicates effectively with residents, families, colleagues, and professionals.
- Understands the importance of dignity, respect, and person-centred care.
- Holds an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or is willing to work towards this qualification.
- Is flexible and able to work a rota that includes weekends.
What We Offer
At St Mary's Care Group, we know our colleagues are our greatest asset. That's why we are committed to creating a supportive environment where you can grow, develop, and feel valued every day.
In return, you'll receive:
- A warm, friendly, and welcoming workplace.
- Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Clear opportunities for career progression.
- A rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference every day.
- The opportunity to be part of a compassionate and supportive team.
- The satisfaction of helping residents live happy, fulfilling, and meaningful lives.
