Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team responsible for shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations to ensure smooth daily functions.
• Oversee materials handling processes, including heavy lifting, forklift operation, and mechanical troubleshooting when necessary.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline warehouse workflows using tools like Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and AS400.
• Coordinate logistics activities with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure timely delivery and shipment accuracy.
• Supervise shipping & receiving procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and maintain accurate records within warehouse management systems.
• Foster a safety-first culture by conducting regular safety training sessions and ensuring adherence to all safety protocols related to heavy lifting, mechanical equipment, and materials handling.

Skills

• Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics operations with strong knowledge of warehouse workflows.
• Hands-on experience with materials handling equipment such as forklifts and mechanical tools.
• Strong process improvement skills to identify inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent team management abilities with a focus on motivating staff, delegating tasks, and developing talent.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning tools like AS400.
• Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, including documentation accuracy and compliance standards.
• Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
