What they need

We are looking for an experienced and motivated leader to join our Adult Deaf and Visual Impairment Service (ADVIS) as a Team Manager (Job Share).

This is an exciting opportunity within ADVIS, offering the chance to join an established, specialist countywide service supporting adults with sensory impairments. ADVIS is a multidisciplinary team comprising Social Workers, Community Care Officers, Occupational Therapists, Visual Impairment Rehabilitation Officers, Enablement Officers and Promoting Independence Workers. While the team is based at Sherwood Energy Village, the service operates across Nottinghamshire, supporting adults of all ages.

The overarching aim of the service is to support people with sensory needs to live independently and safely in their own homes through therapy, rehabilitation and strengths-based social care support.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a specialist service that places prevention and early intervention at the heart of everything we do.

Working alongside your job-share partner and Co-Manager, you will provide leadership and management across a multidisciplinary team, ensuring people receive high-quality support that maximises independence and enables them to live fulfilling lives.

You will:

  • Lead and support a skilled multidisciplinary workforce. Champion strengths-based, preventative and person-centred practice.
  • Promote rehabilitation, enablement and independence-focused interventions.
  • Support staff to deliver high-quality assessments, safeguarding and support planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement, performance and quality assurance.
  • Develop strong partnerships with health services, commissioning colleagues, voluntary organisations and community groups.
  • Strengthen engagement with Deaf, Deafblind and visually impaired communities across Nottinghamshire.
  • Ensure the service continues to respond creatively and effectively to changing needs and increasing demand.

Why ADVIS?

ADVIS is a highly regarded specialist service with a strong reputation for delivering positive outcomes through partnership working and innovative practice.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help further develop our preventative offer, ensuring that people receive the right support at the right time, reducing barriers, promoting independence and helping to prevent or delay the need for more intensive services.

The role is particularly suited to someone who is passionate about:

  • Prevention and early intervention.
  • Sensory impairment services.
  • Promoting independence and reducing reliance on ongoing care.
  • Accessible communication and inclusion.
  • Partnership working across health, social care and the voluntary sector.
  • Leading and developing staff to achieve excellent outcomes.

We are looking for a professional leader who:

  • Holds a recognised professional qualification in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or any other relevant qualification, and registration with appropriate governing body.
  • Has experience of leading teams within Adult Social Care or a related health and social care setting.
  • Understands the importance of strengths-based and preventative practice.
  • Has experience of safeguarding, performance management and quality assurance.
  • Can build positive relationships with partners, stakeholders and communities.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to equality, accessibility and inclusion.
  • Is passionate about improving outcomes for Deaf people and people with sensory impairments.

In return, we offer:

  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
  • A supportive and collaborative leadership culture.
  • Access to high-quality learning and development opportunities.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • A comprehensive wellbeing offer.
  • Opportunities to contribute to service development and innovation across Adult Social Care.

Join Us

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a specialist service that makes a real difference to the lives of Deaf, Deafblind, hard of hearing and visually impaired adults across Nottinghamshire.

If you are passionate about prevention, independence, accessible communication and empowering people to live the lives they choose, we'd love to hear from you.

Together, we can help people overcome barriers, maximise independence and stay connected to the people and communities that matter most.
