Candidate Perspective
If you are someone who thrives in an active setting, genuinely enjoys working as part of a close group, and likes the satisfaction of a clean, well-organized shift where everyone pitches in, you will settle in very quickly with us.
We operate a busy, high-footfall venue in Central Manchester that relies on reliable teamwork, efficient service, and friendly customer interaction. We are looking for a Team Member to join our floor crew and support daily service across customer areas, counters, and stock prep.
Responsibilities & Practical Duties
- Welcoming guests, taking orders at the counter, and handling cash or card payments efficiently.
- Preparing and serving food, beverages, or retail items according to our site operational standards.
- Maintaining clean customer areas by clearing tables, wiping down counters, and managing waste stations.
- Unpacking stock deliveries, organizing inventory in the storage room, and keeping prep areas replenished.
- Monitoring stock freshness, labels, and display presentation throughout the shift.
- Adhering strictly to health, safety, and hygiene regulations across all food handling or service spaces.
- Working closely with colleagues during peak busy rushes to keep customer wait times low.
What Fits This Position
Previous experience is a plus, but not essential as full training is provided. What matters most is a positive work ethic, good punctuality, and a straightforward approach to teamwork.
We welcome applications from candidates with transferable experience in hospitality, retail, customer service, leisure, or university group activities.
- Team Mindset: Willingness to support colleagues during busy periods and keep tasks moving.
- Friendly Manner: Polite, approachable communication style when interacting with visitors and staff.
- Punctuality: Dependable attendance for planned shift patterns, including rotating weekends.
- Practical Care: A clean, organized approach to maintaining customer-facing areas and workspaces.
Practical Training & Skill Building
You will be paired with a senior team member during your first few weeks to walk you through our daily floor routines:
- Floor Induction: Hands-on training covering customer service standards, till systems, and food/product safety.
- Shift Mentoring: Regular check-ins with shift supervisors to offer constructive guidance and answer questions.
- Future Progression: Opportunities over time to learn stock ordering, keyholding duties, or train as a shift supervisor.
Pay & Shift Package
- Pay Rate: £14 – £16 per hour (dependent on age and experience)
- Contract Options: Full-time and part-time hours available (16–37.5 hours per week)
- Perks: Full paid initial training, free shift meals/discounts, regular team social events, and clear internal routes to senior associate roles.
