What they need
Todd Energy, a subsidiary of the Todd Group, is a producer of natural gas, providing more than 20% of New Zealand’s primary energy supply. Todd Energy is also responsible for operating and maintaining Todd’s generation assets, including gas peaking plants.
Run the daily operations support at our McKee Mangahewa Production Station and keep the site organised, connected, and moving efficiently every day.
This is a full-time, permanent position based on site from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with one Friday a month spent in our town office.
About the role
As our sole on-site support, you're often the first-person people see when they arrive and one of the first people they turn to when they need help. You will work closely with the Operations Superintendent, managing a constant flow of moving parts across logistics, administration, safety, and contractor movement.
The pace changes fast out here: one minute you are sorting inductions for an incoming contractor, the next you are chasing urgent purchase orders, directing freight, or setting up for an emergency response drill. It is an active, practical role where your work directly enables the plant to run safely and without disruption.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing site administration, including purchase orders, invoices, timesheets, cost tracking, document control and record management.
- Manage site access, verifying contractor competencies, inductions, and compliance records before work begins.
- Support site safety through meeting minutes, emergency exercise administration, and compliance filing.
- Looking after site facilities, service providers, PPE stock, IT and social committee activities.
About you
You are a practical, grounded team player who enjoys being in the thick of the action and talking with people all day. Having an active, visible presence matters to you, and you take pride in creating an organised, welcoming environment for everyone.
You are comfortable dealing with a wide range of personalities, from contractors through to technical specialists and leadership teams, and you have no trouble holding people to site safety rules and paperwork standards.
You are happy working independently, confident using a range of systems and happy rolling up your sleeves to help where needed.
Key requirements for the role:
- Solid background in site administration, operations coordination, or industrial support where priorities shifted constantly.
- Practical hands-on experience handling financial administration, including cost tracking, timesheets, and purchase orders.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel) and database systems for accurate record-keeping and document control.
- Strong attention to detail with health, safety, and compliance requirements, including site access systems or inductions.
What we can offer you:
- Competitive remuneration with a discretionary performance-based bonus.
- Access to our employee discount scheme, offering savings on electricity, natural gas, broadband and mobile services.
- Employee discount programme (Todd Perks), free eye checks, discounted gym, fuel savings and other services.
- Generous leave provisions, including 3 days office closure leave and the ability to purchase more leave if needed.
- Enhanced parental leave for new parents, including top-ups of government parental leave payments for primary carers & additional leave provision for partners.
- Annual health checks, mole maps, flu vaccinations and mental health support with Clearhead.
- In-house leadership and development programmes, coaching and mentoring available and support for external studies.
- Fun Cultural Calendar & social club activities.
We offer a challenging and rewarding environment where your expertise directly contributes to a nationally significant industry.
