Tech Lead

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Own coding standards, architecture guidelines, and development workflow
• Review system design decisions to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance readiness before they ship
• Lead resolution of complex technical issues — performance bottlenecks, scaling failures, integration risks
• Ensure engineering quality stays consistent as the platform and team grow

Architecture Ownership

• Design and own scalable system architecture
• Define database structure, caching strategy, and service integration patterns
• Select frameworks and third-party services with long-term maintainability in mind, not just speed-to-ship
• Build reusable architecture patterns as the product expands into new feature areas

Feature Delivery Without Regressions

• Turn business/product requirements into detailed technical specs before development starts, explicitly scoping impact on existing features
• Own the practices that prevent new releases from breaking old functionality: code review standards, staging/QA environment, automated regression testing, safe deployment (feature flags, phased rollout, rollback plan)
• Make and justify technical debt vs. speed tradeoffs in terms the business side can evaluate

Cloud Infrastructure (AWS)

• Design and oversee deployment architecture on AWS
• Define environment practices (dev / staging / production)
• Optimize for performance, uptime, and cost-efficiency
• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting standards
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Improve security posture, backup strategy, and disaster recovery readiness

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor 10-15 people dev team
• Run architecture reviews and technical planning sessions
• Reduce technical debt and improve delivery workflow over time
• Support developer growth through coaching and structured feedback

AI & Tooling Enablement

• Promote AI-assisted development workflows (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, automation pipelines) to increase team productivity
• Set standards for using AI tooling safely in a production environment

Quality, Security & Performance

• Work with QA to define performance benchmarks for launch readiness
• Ensure secure authentication and data-handling practices
• Proactively close root causes of recurring technical issues rather than repeatedly patching symptoms

Direct Report to the CEO

• Work directly with the CEO on technical direction and delivery priorities
• Translate business goals into technical roadmap, and flag technical risk early
• Assess technical feasibility when new features or product directions are proposed

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with strong backend and architecture expertise
• Proven experience owning production systems at scale — not just feature delivery
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying AWS infrastructure
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Experience setting up or maturing engineering process (staging, automated testing, code review standards)
• Comfortable as both a hands-on builder and a team leader
• Strong communication in Thai and English

Preferred (Bonus)

• Experience with payment/billing integrations and async job/queue processing

• Experience scaling a platform from dozens to hundreds/thousands of customers

• Knowledge of containerization (Docker)
