Tech Lead - Cryptographic Asset Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Tech Lead - Cryptographic Asset Platform to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space.

This role will lead the design and execution of a secure cryptographic asset management platform that supports key, certificate, and signing lifecycle operations at scale. The position is focused on building reliable production services with strong governance, telemetry, and auditability to support customer-facing cryptographic workflows. You will partner closely with engineering and customer-facing stakeholders to improve self-service, automation, and the overall experience for users of the platform.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $184,000 – $356,500 annually

Responsibilities

• Build a comprehensive cryptographic asset registry
• Create and manage an inventory for keys and certificates with lifecycle tracking
• Govern the platform with telemetry, audit evidence, and policy-based authorization
• Oversee signing flows from design to customer experience, including API and CLI
• Support production signing using advanced cryptographic methods, including post-quantum solutions
• Develop agent-assisted automation paths for improved self-service options for customers
• Measure key metrics such as deflection rates and onboarding times to assess solution effectiveness

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience building and operating production software with real availability expectations
• Strong engineering skills in Python, Java, Go, or similar languages for full-stack cloud service development
• In-depth knowledge of applied cryptography, including PKI, key management, and digital signatures
• Experience applying AI techniques to engineering problems with a critical perspective
• Effective written communication skills for proactive customer engagement
