Tech Lead - Java Development

JOB POSITION

• Carelon Global Solutions India is seeking for a Tech Lead for Java Development.
• Developer with expertise in front-end application development, responsive UI design, and modern JavaScript frameworks. Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js/Angular, API integration, and state management.
• The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Cloud Technologies, and modern software engineering practices while leading a team of developers through the complete software development lifecycle.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Lead architecture, design, and development of enterprise-scale Java applications.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing microservices.
• Define technical standards, coding guidelines, and best practices.
• Experienced in developing scalable web applications, building reusable components, optimizing application performance, and integrating backend services and databases.
• Knowledgeable in automated testing, version control, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices, with a strong focus on delivering secure, accessible, and high-quality user experiences.
• Lead and mentor a team of developers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical coaching.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, DevOps, QA, and Business Stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Drive API strategy, integration design, and system interoperability.
• Ensure application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of production issues.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release management activities.
• Drive technical debt reduction and platform modernization initiatives.

QUALIFICATION

• Requires a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology/Data Engineering or similar combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background and minimum of 8 -10 years software development experience with Java.

EXPERIENCE

• 8 -10 years software development experience with Java.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Strong expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate, and Microservices.
• Strong expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js/Angular, API integration.
• Experience with REST APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or other messaging platforms.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience deploying and supporting applications in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and performance tuning.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
