Tech Lead, Platform Architecture

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Tech Lead / Platform Architect with 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years owning production systems and leading engineers, to own end-to-end technical architecture across Dvxel's product portfolio. This is not a management-only role — you will be hands-on in design, architecture decisions, code reviews, and delivery. You will directly lead one engineering pod of 6-7 engineers in Lahore from day one, and set the architecture and standards every pod builds on as we add more, reporting to our Product Lead and working directly with product leadership.

Our portfolio is made up of AI-native, multi-tenant SaaS products. You will architect LLM-powered applications, RAG pipelines and real-time integrations across them, and you will be expected to stay current with the rapidly evolving AI tooling landscape — including agentic frameworks, AI coding tools such as Claude Code, and emerging LLM orchestration patterns.

This role is for someone who has already done this job. Junior developers, candidates with mainly academic or internship experience, and engineers who have executed assigned tasks without owning design decisions will not meet the bar.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and own end-to-end platform architecture for multi-tenant, AI-native SaaS products
• Define and govern the API contract layer across services — ensuring consistency, scalability, and security across all integration surfaces, and coordinate with other pods to prevent duplicated capabilities and incompatible designs
• Build high-performance backend APIs and microservices in Node.js or Python
• Architect the data layer connecting LLM models, RAG pipelines, vector stores, analytics systems, and third-party integrations, weighing evaluation, grounding, latency, and cost
• Own platform reliability — define SLOs, instrument observability (logging, tracing, alerting), and establish incident response standards
• Lead engineering execution from sprint planning through to production deployment
• Define coding standards, review processes, and engineering best practices across all engineering pods
• Collaborate directly with product leadership on technical roadmap decisions across all active projects
• Evaluate, integrate, and stay current with AI tooling — including agentic frameworks, Claude Code, and evolving LLM orchestration approaches
• Lead deep architectural discussions with clients and stakeholders — translating business requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and shape the engineering culture from day one
• This is a hands-on coding role — you will write production-grade backend code, not just review it

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum

• 6+ years of software engineering experience across multiple stacks, platforms, and client environments
• 3+ years in a system architecture or technical lead role with direct ownership of production systems
• Have led a team of engineers and been accountable for their delivery and quality
• Hands-on with design and code: you write production backend code in Node.js/TypeScript or Python
• Proven track record designing and scaling multi-tenant SaaS platforms in production, including per-tenant data isolation and row-level security
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs and RAG pipelines into production applications
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive stakeholders

Preferred

• Strong working knowledge of cloud-native development — AWS primary, with exposure to GCP or Azure
• Experience designing microservices, event-driven systems, and API-first platforms
• Working with AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) and agentic development workflows
• Experience leading technical discovery, architecture reviews, and client-facing solution discussions
