Title: Technical Account Manager

Duration: Full-time

Location: Hybrid, Towson, MD (1 day onsite in a week)

Salary Range: $105000 - $135000 (with annual bonus and full benefits)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Account Manager to manage strategic OEM customer relationships within the electronic and electromechanical components industry. This role combines technical account management, commercial negotiations, and cross-functional coordination to support existing programs, drive cost optimization, and develop new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day relationships with key OEM customers across sourcing, engineering, quality, and program management teams.

Oversee RFQs, quotations, annual price negotiations, cost-change proposals, and quarterly business reviews.

Manage PCBA and electronic control programs, including costed bill of materials (CBOM) reviews, component changes, end-of-life alternatives, and second-source approvals.

Coordinate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams across international locations to align specifications, production readiness, capacity, and engineering changes.

Identify opportunities to secure new programs and expand existing customer relationships.

Maintain accurate forecasts, open-order reports, pricing records, and program documentation.

Provide regular updates to leadership on account performance, risks, and business opportunities.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience in technical sales or account management involving electronic or electromechanical components sold to OEM customers.

Experience with annual pricing negotiations, cost breakdown analysis, and cost-reduction or productivity initiatives.

Strong understanding of technical drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), PPAP, APQP, design for manufacturability (DFM), and manufacturing cost drivers.

Proven ability to work directly with OEM sourcing, engineering, and quality teams.

Strong commercial, communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.

Flexibility to coordinate with international manufacturing teams across different time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in power tools, appliances, automotive, outdoor power equipment, or related hardware industries.

Experience working with international manufacturing suppliers, particularly in China or Mexico.

Mandarin language proficiency.

Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
