What they need
About Workshop/APD Workshop/APD is an award-winning, multidisciplinary architecture and design firm. From dramatic penthouses and seaside retreats to luxury residential developments and groundbreaking hotels and restaurants, our projects are uniquely defined by a sense of place and purpose and a desire to ultimately enhance users experience through exceptional design. Our aesthetic is timelessly modern but site-specific, unbound by project type or a singular style. Our diverse and collaborative team of creative architects, interior designers, and product designers leverage vast and highly varied experiences to solve complex design challenges, resulting in holistic spaces, products and experiences that are exceptionally beautiful and accessible.
About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Architect with a minimum of 8 years of experience in residential architecture to support the design and execution of complex architectural elements across projects. In this role, you will work collaboratively with project managers, designers, and consultants to develop technically rigorous, design-forward solutions for specialty components. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and fluent in translating ambitious design ideas into precise, buildable outcomes. This role plays a key part in ensuring that signature architectural features are successfully integrated into larger project teams and executed to the highest standards
What You'll Do
- Collaborate closely with project teams, including architects, interior designers, and project managers, to develop and integrate complex architectural elements into larger project scopes.
- Support the design and development of specialty architectural components, including stairs, roofs, façades, and custom installations.
- Translate conceptual design intent into coordinated, technically sound BIM models for construction documentation.
- Produce highly detailed Revit models and drawings that support fabrication, coordination, and construction.
- Act as a technical resource to project teams, contributing to problem-solving and detailing strategies across all phases.
- Participate in internal reviews and cross-team coordination to maintain design quality, consistency, and adherence to office standards.
- Work with consultants, fabricators, and contractors to ensure constructability, coordination, and alignment with design intent.
Qualifications
- Professional Degree (B. Arch or M. Arch).
- 8+ years of work experience in the Architecture/Interior Design industry, particularly in high-end residential or hospitality design.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and strong experience developing detailed construction documentation.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and architectural detailing.
- Experience with additional modeling tools such as Rhino, 3ds Max, and SketchUp.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, design-focused open environment.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to technical excellence.
