Job Description

Database & Data Architecture

Define database architecture and data management strategies for enterprise applications.

Strong hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or equivalent.

Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, Redis, or equivalent is desirable.

Design and review logical and physical data models, schemas, relationships, indexes, constraints, and partitioning strategies.

Strong knowledge of SQL, query optimization, execution plans, indexing, stored procedures, and database performance tuning.

Design database solutions for high availability, scalability, replication, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

Experience with database migration, version upgrades, data migration, and modernization initiatives.

Define appropriate strategies for database sharding, partitioning, caching, read replicas, and connection pooling where required.

Ensure data architecture supports application scalability, performance, security, and reliability requirements.

Design and review data access layers, ORM frameworks, transactions, concurrency, and data consistency strategies.

Experience integrating databases with microservices, APIs, messaging platforms, and event-driven architectures.

Define appropriate approaches for transactional, analytical, and distributed data workloads.

Ensure database solutions comply with security, privacy, governance, and regulatory requirements.

Evaluate cloud database services and recommend appropriate solutions based on performance, availability, scalability, and cost.

Collaborate with DBAs, data engineers, developers, and infrastructure teams to ensure effective database implementation and operations.

Required Technical Skills

Strong experience in software architecture, system design, database architecture, and enterprise application development.

Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Hands-on experience with microservices, REST APIs, distributed systems, and integration architectures.

Strong database knowledge covering SQL/relational databases and preferably NoSQL technologies.

Strong understanding of data modelling, database performance tuning, indexing, transactions, replication, and HA/DR.

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.

Strong understanding of application security, identity and access management, encryption, and secure coding practices.

Experience designing systems for high availability, scalability, reliability, and performance.

Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, React, C#, .node JS, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar.

Experience with architecture and design patterns.

Familiarity with observability, logging, monitoring, performance engineering, and production support.

Familiarity with Agile development processes and tools (JIRA, Confluence)
