Technical Architect - MBSE/Digital Engineering

For our client, we are seeking a Technical Architect - MBSE/Digital Engineering to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space.

This role will shape enterprise and system architecture for a complex federal program, with a focus on model-based systems engineering and digital engineering practices. You will translate operational needs into scalable solution designs, define integration approaches, and help establish governance across the program lifecycle. The position also involves partnering closely with technical, program, and executive stakeholders to brief leadership, manage risk, and support transition planning.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $114,600 – $252,100 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of system architecture using MBSE and DoDAF/UAF approaches.
• Develop and manage system models in SysML/UML, ensuring requirements traceability.
• Drive digital engineering strategy across the program lifecycle.
• Translate business and operational needs into solution architectures for COTS/ERP implementation.
• Define integration patterns and interoperability requirements across various systems.
• Establish architecture governance standards and brief senior leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address gaps and risks in projects.
• Contribute to development of technology roadmaps and transition planning.

Qualifications

• Secret clearance required to start.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in enterprise, system, or solution architecture for federal or DoD IT programs.
• 5+ years of hands-on MBSE/Digital Engineering experience in complex systems.
• Experience with SysML, UML, and DoDAF/UAF modeling frameworks.
• Proficiency in MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler or Sparx EA.
• Experience with enterprise integration, APIs, and data architecture.
• Strong communication skills for executive-level briefings.
