What they need

Experience:

Mid-to-Senior level, 4+ years The Opportunity

We are building the future of game development at the intersection of gaming, generative AI and scalable cloud infrastructure. Our goal is to fundamentally change how games are built and deployed.

This is NOT a hand-off role. You won't be producing mockups and waiting for an engineer, or writing code and leaving the look to someone else. Most studios split this work between an artist and a front-end developer. We want one person who closes that gap.

As an early core hire, you will partner directly with the founders to own the visual layer of our game client: effects, animation, motion and the reusable building blocks that let us create many beautiful games quickly, with generative AI at the center of how we make them. If you want to define how a product looks and feels before the concrete sets, this is your seat.

We are looking for a Technical Artist

who lives in both worlds: someone who can talk composition, color and timing with a designer, then pull the repo and ship the effect themselves. If you've been called "the designer who codes" or "the developer with taste", we'd like to talk.

Zero bureaucracy: prototype, test, learn and ship. You will:

  • Define the visual identity of a new product before it is locked in.
  • Shape how generative AI is used in a real production pipeline, not just experiment with it.
  • Build systems, not just assets: your presets will shape many games, not one.

What You'll Build

  • Game client visual effects:

wins, reveals, transitions, particles, glows, screen shake, the moments that make a game feel alive.

  • A modular effects library:

reusable, configurable components, plus presets and themes that designers and our AI content pipeline can apply across many games.

  • Animation and motion systems:

easing, timing and sequencing that feel polished and consistent.

  • AI-powered art workflows:

reusable generation setups that produce stylistically consistent assets for many games, and automation that removes repetitive production work.

  • The bridge between art and code:

turning AI-generated images and video into game-ready assets: seamless loops, alpha transparency, sprite sheets and file sizes that hold up on mobile.

  • Visual standards:

the color palettes, motion principles and quality bar the rest of the team builds on.

What We're Looking For

You don't need every item below. You're strong in at least two of these three sides and growing in the third.

The Creative Side

  • A strong portfolio of motion, effects or game visuals that shows taste, not just technique.

  • Strong design and animation fundamentals: composition, visual hierarchy, color and contrast; timing, easing, anticipation and follow-through.

  • Hands-on experience with Photoshop

or comparable tools; experience with After Effects

    or Spine

    is a plus.

  • An eye for what makes a moment feel rewarding to a player.

The Technical Side

  • Comfortable working in a codebase: you use GitHub

day to day (branches, commits, pull requests).

  • Working knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript

and modern IDEs: VS Code, Cursor

    or similar.

  • Experience building visuals in code: CSS animation, Canvas, WebGL, shaders or a 2D engine such as PixiJS or Phaser.

  • Thinks in components (parameterized, reusable, easy for others to use) and cares about performance on real devices, including mobile.

The AI Side

  • You use generative AI as an everyday creative tool: image and video models as well as LLMs, with AI video as part of your animation toolkit.
  • You get consistent, high-quality results, not one lucky image. You know how to control style, composition and variation.
  • You build reusable prompt templates and workflows with dynamic parameters, and automate repetitive work (batch generation, variations, asset preparation) with scripts, AI coding assistants or tools like ComfyUI.
  • You judge AI output with an artist's eye and know when to fix it by hand.

Strong Advantage

  • Shader programming (GLSL or similar).
  • Game industry experience, especially slot games, iGaming, HTML5 or playable ads.

How to Apply

Send us both sides of your work:

  1. A portfolio or reel of visual, motion or effects work.
  2. A link to code you've written: a GitHub profile, a CodePen, a repo or a live demo. Small side projects count.
  3. One example of AI-assisted work, with a few lines on how you got consistent results.

Other offers great for you!
