I'm running a confidential search for a leading organisation that is rebuilding how it works around AI — and they need a builder who can cover the whole stack.

Here's what I can tell you about them.

Established. Profitable. Privately held, with their head office in Hong Kong. Not a startup — but making a bet most startups wouldn't have the nerve to make.

Rather than bolt AI onto the edges of the business, they're rebuilding how the work actually gets done around it. Internal tools, automations, workflows — designed AI-first, shipped fast, used daily by real people across the business.

The technology function driving it is new, small, and properly backed. No legacy stack to fight. No committee to convince. No six-month roadmap to wait on.

They're hiring one of the first hands on it. That's the role below.

The Role

You're a builder. That's the whole job.

You'll work directly alongside their Technology Lead, taking real business problems and turning them into working software — using Claude, Claude Code, and whatever else in the AI-native toolchain gets it shipped fastest.

This is a genuinely all-round role. On a small team there's nobody to hand the front end to, and nobody to hand the deployment to. You'll build the interface, write the logic behind it, and stand up the server it runs on. Not world-class at all three — but competent and unafraid across all of them.

This isn't a help-desk role. It isn't a strategy role. You won't be writing decks about AI transformation. You'll be building the thing, deploying it, and watching people use it the same week.

They'll judge you on what you ship.

What You'll Actually Do

• Build, test, and ship internal tools and automations with Claude Code and other AI-native platforms
• Own features end to end — interface, backend logic, data, and deployment
• Take a loosely scoped problem and return with something that works — minimal hand-holding
• Deploy and maintain what you build on their cloud infrastructure
• Make colleagues across the business dangerous with Claude — better prompts, fewer manual processes
• Document it well enough that someone else can pick it up
• Watch what you shipped, fix what breaks, flag what's beyond your scope early
• Stay ahead of the tooling and bring back what's genuinely useful

You'll Fit If You Have

• 4–6 years writing and shipping production code — recently, not historically
• Full-stack range: front end, back end, and server side. You can build a usable interface, design the service behind it, and run it in production without waiting for someone else
• Real fluency with Claude Code or an equivalent AI-native coding tool (they will ask you to show us)
• Enough AWS, GCP, or Azure to deploy, debug, and keep things running
• The instinct to build the solution rather than wait for one
• Comfort with a stack that changes month to month
• A default setting of "let me build that" — not "let me raise a ticket for that"

Bonus Points For

• Automation, scripting, or workflow orchestration experience
• Hands-on with the Anthropic API and prompt engineering
• SaaS admin or internal business systems exposure
• Startup or lean-team background where you wore several hats

The Process

Practical, not theoretical. Strong candidates get a real Claude Code project to work through — it tells them more in an afternoon than three interviews would. They're looking for problem-solving instinct, technical fluency, and the ability to deliver something that actually works end to end.
