Technical Business Analyst

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Business Analyst to join a major organisation based in Perth on an initial 3-month contract. This is a highly visible, stakeholder-facing role focused on AI-driven process improvement, operational transformation, and intelligent automation initiatives.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will identify business challenges, map and optimise processes, and help shape requirements for AI-enabled and automation solutions. You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and delivery teams, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements within an agile environment.

This role requires a proactive, self-driven Business Analyst who can confidently engage stakeholders, facilitate workshops, and independently gather information across the business to drive outcomes.

While the initial contract term is 3 months, there is a strong pipeline of work expected beyond the initial engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with senior leaders and key stakeholders to identify business pain points, challenges, and strategic objectives through workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions.
• Create process maps, value stream maps, and current-state/future-state process documentation using tools such as Visio or Miro.
• Elicit, analyse, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
• Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting business analysis artefacts.
• Conduct gap analyses and process improvement assessments to identify opportunities for optimization.
• Identify and recommend AI, automation, and intelligent process improvement opportunities aligned to business objectives.
• Facilitate workshops and present findings, recommendations, and business cases to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and delivery teams to ensure solutions align with business requirements and technical feasibility.
• Support change management activities, training initiatives, and adoption of new technologies and processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst in complex organizational environments.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with senior stakeholders and business leaders.
• Strong workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
• Proven experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation.
• Experience creating process maps, conducting gap analyses, and documenting business processes.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, Visio, Miro, or similar tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently to drive outcomes.

Desirable Experience

• Exposure to AI, Generative AI, Intelligent Automation, RPA, or related process improvement initiatives.
• Experience delivering digital transformation, operational improvement, or automation programs.
• Knowledge of BABOK frameworks, business analysis techniques, and requirements traceability practices.
• Familiarity with Lean, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Relevant Agile, BABOK, CBAP, or business analysis certifications.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Relevant Business Analysis and/or Agile certifications will be highly regarded.
