Technical Business Analyst

We are seeking a highly analytical and technically proficient Technical Business Analyst – Payments Operations to support payment operations, production troubleshooting, and transaction processing environments. The ideal candidate will bridge Business, Operations, Support, and Engineering teams by investigating payment issues, analyzing transaction flows, reviewing logs, validating APIs, and using data analysis to identify root causes and drive resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Support payment processing operations across multiple payment rails and transaction channels.
• Investigate transaction failures, payment exceptions, reconciliation issues, and processing delays.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and troubleshoot production issues.
• Analyze application, middleware, and system logs.
• Trace end-to-end transaction flows across multiple systems.
• Validate and troubleshoot REST/SOAP APIs using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
• Analyze API request/response payloads and integration issues.
• Use SQL for transaction investigation, data validation, reconciliation, and trend analysis.
• Gather and document business/technical requirements, user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
• Support UAT, production validation, release readiness, incident management, and process improvements .
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, operations, product, technology, and vendor teams.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Production Support Analyst, Software Engineer, SDET , or similar role.
• Strong experience with SQL, API Testing, Production Support, Log Analysis, Troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis .
• Experience supporting payment processing systems or financial transaction platforms .
• Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, XML, and system integration .
• Strong requirements gathering, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Postman, Swagger , or similar API testing tools.

Preferred Skills

• Banking, Payments, FinTech, Card Processing, Merchant Services, or Financial Services experience.
• Knowledge of ACH, Wire Transfers, RTP, FedNow, Card Payments, ISO 20022, and SWIFT .
• Experience with Splunk, Kibana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics , or similar monitoring tools.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP .
• Knowledge of ITIL, Incident Management, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
