What they need

Most of our families have already been everywhere else. You are the one who will help us investigate what nobody else has.

Families travel across Australia to sit in the room you'll help to run. What happens in there - the precision of the nervous system scan, the calm in your voice, the question you ask that nobody has bothered to ask before - is often the first thing in years that makes them feel like they are in the right place.

We investigate. We never guess. And we are dedicated to solving complex health problems for people.

That's not just how we care for patients - it's the standard we're hiring to.

This Is Life is a Neurologically-Focused Paediatric, Prenatal and Family Chiropractic practice on the Gold Coast, led by Dr Ashley Campbell-Bird (40 years in practice) and Michaela Menichelli. Built from scratch after a move from Melbourne, into one of the country's most trusted practices in under two years.

What you'll own (with training and mentorship):

  • Flawless execution of INSiGHT neurological scanning (NeuroThermal, Neurospinal EMG, HRV) — precise, efficient, delivered with real warmth and care
  • Clinical support that frees our practitioners to give 100% of their attention to the patient in front of them
  • Accurate, timely clinical documentation and progress tracking
  • One of the first faces a family sees - and one of the reasons they choose to stay

This role is not for you if:

  • You want a job you can coast through
  • High standards make you uncomfortable rather than energised and excited
  • You're filling time between other plans, not building a career
  • Health administration and fine detail bore you

This is exactly your kind of role if you:

  • Are naturally calm under pressure and energised by helping people (especially children), not drained by it
  • Hold yourself to a standard most people would call "a lot" - and wouldn't want it any other way
  • Are tech-savy, detail-obsessed, and understand the importance of clinical notes
  • Want a long-term career inside a mission you actually believe in

The benefits:

  • Competitive salary with the opportunity for wage increases inline with the growth of the practice
  • Complimentary Neurologically-Focused Chiropractic care
  • Real mentorship from a Chiropractor with 40 years of mastery
  • Cross-functional skill development across advanced scanning technology and patient experience
  • A seat inside a rapidly growing, deeply mission-driven team

Ready?

This isn't a role for someone looking to coast - it's for someone who wants to help build Australia's most trusted Neurologically-Focused family practice, and grow alongside it. Apply with your resume and a short note on why this mission matters to you. We read every application personally.

Full Job Description

Role Overview

This is a dual-capacity role: Technical Chiropractic Assistant and Patient Experience Team Member. You are one of the primary clinical support persons for the practitioner team, and a skilled technician in nervous system scanning - ensuring technical excellence and compassionate patient care are never separate things.

You'll serve as:

  • Clinical support for the practitioner team
  • Patient support throughout the clinical visit and the broader care journey
  • A skilled technician in nervous system scanning, integrating precision with genuine care

Key Responsibilities

Practitioner Support, Clinical Scanning & Technology Management

  • Execute INSiGHT scanning procedures (NeuroThermal, Neurospinal EMG, HRV) with precision, efficiency and patient comfort
  • Help maintain accurate, clinically relevant notes - schedule of care, relevant investigation reports (INSiGHT scans, CT, MRI, ultrasound, X-ray)
  • Monitor, document and upload patient scans for progress reports; display pre-appointment scans to the treating practitioner
  • Support maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of scanning equipment; liaise with INSiGHT on technical issues
  • Perform daily equipment checks and maintain organised inventory

Patient Experience Excellence

  • Deliver welcoming, professional, efficient and caring interactions at every touchpoint - clinical accuracy always comes first, rapport-building second
  • Support patient adherence to care plans through proactive communication, education and follow-up with front desk
  • Coordinate the new patient journey from waiting room through to scanning and practitioner handover
  • Deliver high level patient progress tracking to support exceptional patient outcomes
  • Have rooms, files, scans and equipment fully prepared before the practitioner enters
  • Support the practitioner's day-to-day logistics: bag packed at end of shift, message handover complete, paediatric equipment ready

Collaboration & Process Excellence

  • Coordinate seamlessly between scanning procedures and patient experience protocols
  • Work with the clinical team to track patient progress and maintain world-class record keeping
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine workflows and raise operational standards
  • Support special projects, events and practice growth initiatives
  • Maintain AHPRA compliance in all patient interactions, scanning procedures and clinical data handling

Key Qualities & Skills

  • Naturally friendly, empathetic, calm under pressure and energised by helping people (esp children)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with high accuracy in patient interactions and admin tasks
  • Tech-savy and systems-minded
  • Proactive problem-solver, clinical-first mindset
  • Strong organisational skills; able to multitask through fast-paced, high-touch shifts
  • Deeply aligned with our mission of Neurologically-Focused paediatric, prenatal and family Chiropractic care

What We Do

This Is Life is transforming the health of children and families for generations to come. Led by Dr Ashley Campbell-Bird - a leading Australian Paediatric and Family Chiropractor with 40 years in practice and Michaela Menichelli. Our team supports families through some of the toughest and most misunderstood cases: autism, epilepsy, ADHD, anxiety, developmental delay, chronic immune and digestive challenges and everyday paediatric and family wellness care. We pair a Neurologically-Focused clinical approach with a truly patient-centred and world class experience, because we believe both matter equally.
