What they need

Ready to Rise to the Challenge? Join the Team Behind Bristol’s Favorite Bakes!

At Parsons Bakery, we take pride in baking the good stuff. We are looking for a sharp, proactive Technical Co-ordinator to act as our eyes and ears on the bakery floor, ensuring every loaf, pastry, and cake meets the highest food safety and quality standards.

Whether you have a background in food QA or are looking to kickstart your technical career in food manufacturing, we will provide the mentoring and funded certifications you need to succeed.

What You’ll Do

Reporting directly to the Manufacturing & Development Director and supporting the Senior Bakery Management team you will bridge the gap between daily operations and senior management:

  • Quality & Hygiene Audits: Perform hands-on GMP audits, ATP swabbing, and recipe/yield consistency checks.
  • Safety & Lab Testing: Coordinate product testing with external labs, track results, and analyze trends.
  • Site Operations & Logistics: Monitor delivery temperatures, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and coordinate with key maintenance contractors.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Manage digital food safety records (ABI System) and prepare reports and corrective actions for the Senior Management Team.
  • Audit Prep: Assist the Commercial & Compliance Manager in preparing for major third-party audits (e.g., BRCGS).

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience or Passion: Background in a food QA/technical role is ideal (bakery experience is a bonus!), but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with Microsoft Office and digital compliance software (experience with ABI or Nutricalc is a huge plus).
  • Analytical Eye: You don't just collect data—you spot the "why" behind temperature logs and lab results.
  • Strong Communicator: Clear, assertive communicator who can deal with everyone from on-site bakery staff to external contractors and senior leadership.
  • Detail-Oriented: An uncompromising commitment to hygiene, accuracy, and high standards.

What We Offer in Return

We don't just hire talent; we invest in it. You'll receive fully funded qualifications and dedicated 1-on-1 mentorship to fast-track your technical career:

  • Funded Certifications: Food Hygiene Level 3 and HACCP Level 3 (moving toward Level 4).
  • Mentorship: Weekly structured mentoring with our Technical Operations Consultant.
  • Work-Life Balance: Steady daytime hours (Monday to Friday).
