Technical Deputy General Manager

Role Summary The Technical Deputy General Manager for PET Perform and Flexible Manufacturing leads and directs all aspects of operation, maintenance, production, utilities, planning, and quality control to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing of PET and flexible packaging products. This senior leadership role partners with corporate and plant leadership to drive operational excellence, strategic investment, and sustainable performance across the manufacturing campus.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and optimize all production lines for PET and flexible packaging, ensuring high productivity, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Oversee maintenance strategy and execution (preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance) to maximize asset availability and minimize downtime.
• Lead utilities management (steam, water, compressed air, HVAC) to ensure reliable utilities supply, energy efficiency, and cost control.
• Plan and coordinate manufacturing schedules, capacity planning, and raw material procurement in collaboration with supply chain to meet demand and minimize obsolescence.
• Drive quality control and process control programs, ensuring adherence to GMP, ISO/quality standards, and customer specifications.
• Develop and manage budgets, capital projects, and cost optimization initiatives; monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement next-steps.
• Lead technology and process modernization projects, including automation, digitization, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Ensure safety, environmental compliance, and a strong safety culture across all operations; conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
• Build and mentor high-performance teams; establish performance expectations, training plans, succession planning, and talent development.
• Collaborate with Quality, RD, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain functions to drive cross-functional improvements and new product introductions.
• Report operational performance to senior leadership; provide transparent escalation of risks and proposed remediation actions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Advanced degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related) or equivalent blend of education and experience; MBA or equivalent business training preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in PET and/or flexible packaging manufacturing environments; strong exposure to extrusion, molding, and converting processes is advantageous.
• Demonstrated expertise in operations management, maintenance strategy, utilities management, production planning, and quality control.
• Proven track record in delivering operational improvements, cost reductions, safety performance, and capital project delivery.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, regulatory standards, ISO quality systems, and environmental health and safety practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence at multiple levels.
