Technical Design and Engineering Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Design and Engineering Manager to take ownership of the design and detailing function within an established construction business.

This is a senior leadership role focused on accountability, team management, systems and process improvement, rather than being purely hands-on. You will be responsible for ensuring the department operates efficiently, maintains high standards and consistently delivers for the wider business.

About You
We are seeking an experienced technical professional who has the leadership capability and personality to take genuine ownership of a department.
You will ideally bring:

• 5+ years' experience within engineering, design, detailing, construction or a related technical environment
• Previous experience in engineering, project management, design management or a similar leadership capacity
• Experience managing or coordinating internal and/or outsourced teams
• Strong attention to detail and technical understanding
• Proven ability to implement and improve systems and processes
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
• A proactive and accountable approach, with the confidence to hold others accountable
• Software experience highly regarded, but not essential
