Role Description The Technical Design Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Hawthorne, CA, responsible for translating creative concepts into production-ready designs for HYPLAND’s apparel and accessories. This role oversees technical specifications, including detailed flats, measurements, construction details, and material selections, ensuring designs can be manufactured accurately and consistently. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating closely with design, production, and merchandising teams; reviewing samples and fit; resolving technical issues with vendors; and maintaining up-to-date technical packs and CAD files. The Technical Design Lead will guide standards for quality, durability, and wearability, while ensuring that signature anime and streetwear graphics are executed with precision. This role also mentors junior team members, supports cross-functional communication, and contributes to process improvements that enhance efficiency and product excellence.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong visual design skills, including Graphic Design and Graphics, with the ability to translate creative concepts into clear technical direction.
• Candidates should possess solid technical design and drafting abilities, including Architecture and Computer-Aided Design (CAD), for creating accurate patterns, layouts, and technical drawings.
• Candidates should possess rigorous Research skills to stay current on materials, construction methods, manufacturing capabilities, and streetwear and anime-related trends.
• Relevant experience in technical design for apparel, streetwear, or fashion, including creating tech packs, fit comments, and production-ready specifications.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design and CAD tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CLO, Optitex, or similar) and strong digital file management practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a collaborative environment, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams and vendors, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and consistency in product execution.
