Position Title: ALBION SC Brooklyn Technical Director

Reports to: Board of Directors

Salary: $125,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience and license level

Position Status: Full-time, year-round (employment structure finalized with the selected candidate)

Purpose:

The Technical Director owns the soccer at ALBION SC Brooklyn. This role is responsible for

the club's playing methodology, curriculum, and coach development across both sites and all

age groups - and for building a coaching staff and player pathway capable of developing

players to the collegiate and professional level through a complete club model. The

Technical Director sets and upholds the standard: what our sessions look like, how our

coaches grow, how our players progress, and how our club culture is lived on the field. This

is a leadership role first; your primary job is developing a staff of 25+ coaches to work within

a high standard environment and develop best in class player development.

ABOUT ALBION SC BROOKLYN

ALBION SC Brooklyn is a nonprofit youth soccer club, operated by Brooklyn Soccer

Foundation, a 501(c)(3), serving families across two waterfront Brooklyn sites - Red Hook at

Pier 5, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and Williamsburg. We field competitive travel teams from our

Juniors Developmental Academy through U19, including Elite Academy (EA) programming,

and commit $175,000 annually in scholarships so that every talented player can play

regardless of family finances. As part of the national ALBION SC network and an Adidas

partner club, we combine a professional development environment with a genuine

community mission. Our goal is to become a top program in the market and develop

players to the collegiate or professional level through a complete club model.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

The ALBION SC TECHNICAL DIRECTOR is the primary individual responsible for the

technical program of ALBION SC Brooklyn and for maintaining the standards of ALBION SC.

The role involves the development and implementation of coaching staff, culture,

standards, and programming, with focus on the growth, quality, and performance of the

organization.

1. Own the club Game Model and age-banded curriculum from Juniors through U19, aligned with

the ALBION SC national approach, and ensure sessions across both sites reflect it.

2. Manage and implement standardization of curriculum for all teams, including periodization

plans, style of play, and the technical plan for each age band.

3. Implement, manage, and organize a coaching staff per age group that is complete and capable

of executing the club curriculum; recruit, interview, and recommend coaching hires in

conjunction with the Executive Director.

4. Observe training sessions weekly across both sites, deliver regular coach education, set

individual coach goals, and conduct mid-season and end-of-season coach reviews.

5. Assure the club that each coach is compliant with the ALBION process, holds required

licenses and safeguarding credentials, is adhering to the standards of ALBION SC, and is

providing fully what is expected.

6. Lead tryout process across all age groups, team placement standards, and player movement

across Premier, Academy, and EA levels; build out team rosters in accordance with Age Group

Directors and ensure that target roster numbers are reached.

7. Develop the player pool strategy to get the best development plan for integration of players

within the ALBION SC network.

8. Oversee and manage a recruitment plan to identify the best talent in the area and annually

bring forth 2-3 players per age group identified in the market.

9. Provide and ensure staff is performing evaluations and IDP plans for all players per timeline.

10. Develop a club culture in which coaches, players, and parents are committed to the club and

organization first. Club First Mentality. Pride in the club. Continue club culture defined around

player development and high standards.

11. Assure the club that all players and coaches within the organization are 100% outfitted

professionally in training and on game day in proper club attire (Adidas).

12. Coach 1-2 teams as role models and examples of what it needs to look like as a coach;

personal coaching load is capped at this level to protect coach-development work.

Strategy and Administration

● In conjunction with the Executive Director, set performance measures to easily see that your

leadership in the program is successful.

● Organize and implement standardization for the coaches and teams inside the program.

● Provide quarterly performance reports to the Executive Director for the Board of Directors.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

● Achieve building out the set number of teams and set number of players each season.

● Achieve and sustain strong year-over-year player retention across both sites [target %, set with

Executive Director].

● Recruitment inside each cycle of identified top 2-3 players in the market for each age group.

● All players and coaches outfitted with proper club attire.

● All coaches clear on standards, with coach performance actively managed and reviews

completed for the full staff.

● Full staff implementation of the prescribed standards, Game Model, and IDP/evaluation

timelines set forth by the club.

● Strong results on the annual family survey [NPS or satisfaction target, set with Executive

Director].

● Players advancing through the Premier, Academy, and EA pathway, with college placements

tracked over a multi-year window.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

● USSF A License or UEFA equivalent at minimum.

● 10+ years coaching competitive youth soccer, including 3+ years in a technical leadership or

Director of Coaching role.

● Demonstrated coach-education experience - a record of developing other coaches, not only

players.

● SafeSport certification, background check, and all safeguarding requirements under New York

State law and club policy.

Preferred

● Experience leading a multi-site or multi-program club.

● Familiarity with the NYC/tri-state competitive youth soccer landscape (EDP, EA League, CJSL).

● Spanish or other second language.

Requirements

As a full-time position, the role comes with the expectation that you are full-time with

ALBION SC and that your professional focus lies on building the ALBION SC Brooklyn

program. This is a field-first role: the core of the work happens at training and on game

days, and evenings and weekends at Red Hook and Williamsburg are the expectation.

Administrative and planning work is flexible and may be done remotely, with the club office

available for work and meetings. You will be required to attend leadership meetings held at

the club office weekly and/or virtually.

Reviews

Performance appraisals against the identified job responsibilities and KPIs will be carried

out by ALBION SC at agreed intervals with annual review by the Board of Directors.
