About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Director to provide technical leadership, strengthen engineering excellence, and support the successful delivery of complex projects across the business.

This role is responsible for driving technical quality, providing expert guidance to engineering teams, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with industry standards. The Technical Director will also play a key role in mentoring technical professionals and building organizational capability.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Provide expert technical guidance across engineering projects and disciplines.
• Ensure engineering work meets company, client, and industry standards.
• Review and oversee technical deliverables and project outcomes.
• Promote innovation, best practices, and technical excellence across the organization.
• Serve as a trusted advisor for complex technical matters.

Team Development

• Mentor and support engineers, technical specialists, and project teams.
• Encourage knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
• Help develop future technical leaders within the organization.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Business & Client Engagement

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
• Support business development and identify opportunities for growth.
• Provide technical input for proposals, bids, and strategic initiatives.
• Represent the organization in client meetings and industry forums.

Strategy & Governance

• Contribute to long-term business and technical planning.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support risk management and decision-making processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across projects and teams.

Project Oversight

• Provide technical oversight on major projects and high-risk activities.
• Assist project teams in resolving technical challenges.
• Monitor project performance and support successful project delivery.
• Ensure safety, quality, and operational excellence remain a priority.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 20 years of engineering and design management experience in consulting, construction, or related industries.
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in delivering complex engineering projects.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring technical professionals.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, governance, and risk management.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
• International project experience is an advantage.
