Technical Director (MEP)

Black & White Engineering is seeking a Technical Director to provide technical leadership across our rapidly growing European business. As a Technical Director, you'll work alongside some of the industry's leading engineers, influencing the technical direction of major mission-critical and data centre projects across Europe. You'll play a key role in developing client relationships, mentoring future leaders and ensuring the highest standards of engineering delivery across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide technical leadership and oversight across a portfolio of engineering projects.
• Lead technical reviews and ensure engineering solutions meet quality, performance and commercial objectives.
• Act as a senior technical authority and trusted advisor for clients and project teams.
• Support project teams in resolving complex technical challenges and risk areas.
• Drive engineering excellence and contribute to the development of technical standards and best practice.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients, developers, contractors and industry stakeholders.
• Support business development initiatives, bids and strategic growth opportunities.
• Mentor and develop engineers, principals and associates across the business.
• Help strengthen Black & White Engineering's technical capability and market presence within France and Continental Europe.
• Contribute to thought leadership initiatives and represent the business within the wider industry.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a Technical Director, Director, Associate Director or equivalent senior leadership position.
• Strong technical expertise within your engineering discipline and the ability to provide oversight on complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
• Commercial awareness with experience supporting business growth and project delivery.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation is desirable.
• Experience within mission-critical, data centre, infrastructure or complex building projects would be advantageous.
