Technical Draftsperson

Job summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Technical Draftsperson to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate technical and working drawings from approved interior design & furniture concepts, ensuring that designs can be properly executed by our production and site teams.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed technical, working, and shop drawings for interior fit-out, furniture and cabinetry projects, including elevations, sections and production specifications
• Translate design concepts, sketches and 3D designs into accurate technical drawings.
• Interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings where required.
• Revise drawings based on design changes, site conditions and project requirements.
• Work closely with the Design, Production and Project teams, ensuring drawings are practical and suitable for execution.
• Provide technical clarification to production and site teams when required.
• Prepare drawings with appropriate dimensions, specifications, materials and production details.
• Maintain proper drawing records, revisions and file organisation.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, clear, properly scaled and issued within project timelines.

Requirements:

• HND in Product Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in drafting, construction, interior design, furniture manufacturing or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
• Knowledge of SketchUp is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and technical drawings.
• Experience producing furniture, cabinetry or interior fit-out drawings will be highly advantageous. Good understanding of materials and furniture production.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with designers, production teams and site personnel.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
