Technical Engineer (After-Sales)

About the role

This is a hands-on Technical Engineer role where you will be the face of technical support in the APAC region. You will solve real problems on customer sites, work across both lead-acid and lithium battery technologies, and shape how after-sales service scales across APAC. You will have the autonomy to own issues end-to-end, backed by a collaborative regional team and direct access to HQ engineering expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Visit customer sites to diagnose and resolve battery-related issues, and evaluate battery performance in the field.
• Support testing, installation, commissioning, and post-commissioning activities.
• Provide responsive technical support (on-site, email, and phone) for lead-acid and lithium battery queries.
• Deliver technical training and product presentations to customers and internal teams.
• Perform battery maintenance, routine health checks, and performance analysis on deployed systems.
• Manage warranty claims end-to-end, from evaluation and local testing through documentation and resolution.
• Ensure products meet regulatory requirements and carry out quality checks where required.
• Maintain accurate technical records, reports, and SAP entries.
• Work with HQ Technical Support, Global After-Sales, and production teams in China to resolve complex technical issues.
• Support sales and tender activities on technical matters across the APAC region.

About you

• Diploma or above in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant technical or field service experience.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and a genuine customer-first attitude.
• Good communication skills, with the confidence to engage customers and present technical topics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and willingness to travel within the APAC region (typically planned in advance; occasional urgent trips).
• Comfortable with practical site work and occasional physical tasks as part of a team.
• Experience in the battery industry (lead-acid and/or lithium) is desirable.
• Familiarity with SAP or Microsoft Project is desirable.
