Job Purpose

We are looking for a Senior Conversational AI / Chatbot Developer to support the development and expansion of a customer-facing Conversational AI platform for the China market.

The role is primarily hands-on and will focus on chatbot development, customer self-service journeys, backend integrations, APIs and custom digital experiences. The candidate will work closely with technical leads, business teams, enterprise application teams and external technology partners to deliver solutions from requirement understanding through development, testing, deployment and production support.

Key Accountabilities

• Design and develop Conversational AI and chatbot journeys for customer-service and self-service use cases.
• Build customer journeys for scenarios such as order information, product information, document retrieval, shipment tracking and customer support.
• Develop and integrate chatbot solutions with enterprise systems using REST APIs and backend services.
• Support integrations with SAP, CRM, SharePoint/document repositories and other enterprise applications.
• Develop or support custom web pages and backend components required to extend chatbot functionality.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization and customer-specific data-access controls.
• Translate business requirements into technically feasible chatbot and integration solutions.
• Take assigned use cases from solution design through development, testing, UAT, go-live and production stabilization.
• Troubleshoot chatbot, API, backend and integration issues across multiple systems.
• Implement appropriate error handling, validation, logging and fallback scenarios.
• Work with internal Security, Infrastructure and application teams to meet enterprise security requirements.
• Support testing, defect resolution, releases and production incidents.
• Create reusable components and integration patterns wherever possible.
• Maintain clear technical documentation for chatbot journeys, APIs, integrations and custom components.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve customer experience and automation.

Experience

Required Skills & Experience

• Around 3–5 years of experience in software development, chatbot development, Conversational AI or enterprise integrations.
• Strong hands-on experience with REST APIs, JSON and backend integration development.
• Good programming experience with Python, JavaScript or similar backend technologies.
• Experience developing chatbot or customer-facing digital solutions.
• Understanding of conversational flows, intents, context, business rules and fallback handling.
• Experience integrating solutions with enterprise applications such as SAP, CRM or document-management systems.
• Good understanding of authentication, authorization, API security and secure data handling.
• Experience with testing, debugging, troubleshooting and production support.
• Ability to independently own and deliver assigned technical use cases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Sobot or similar Conversational AI / customer-service platforms.
• Experience working with WeChat or China-specific digital channels.
• SAP integration experience.
• Experience developing lightweight web applications or custom chatbot pages.
• Experience with Azure Functions, cloud services or API management.
• Knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs or Agentic AI.
• Experience with knowledge-base and document-search solutions.
• Experience delivering solutions for the China market.
• Mandarin / Chinese language capability would be a strong advantage.
