Technical Engineer

Responsibilities:
As a “Technical Engineer – HEC APAC”, you will act as a technical expert, developing and supporting our regional Handtmann subsidiaries, sales and service partners, and selected end customers throughout the APAC region. Your role focuses mainly on delivering technical training to enhance the skills or expertise of our colleagues and partners and on providing technical support in general. You will be part of a regional acting support team with different disciplines in a global organization.

Location:

• Based at the Handtmann Experience Center in Thailand
• High willingness to travel within the APAC region required

Communication

• Serve as a proactive, service-oriented contact for customers
• Maintain ongoing communication with the regional team as well as with the Headquarters in Germany
• Collect and report market feedback, customer observations, and complaints
• Ensure faster response times by providing second-level support within the same time zone

Training and capability development

• Develop and support customers in the APAC region, including analysis of knowledge levels and providing guidance for further development
• Plan and deliver technical training for service engineers, partners, colleagues, and customers at an international level.
• Assess regional technical knowledge levels and support the development of partner service capabilities.
• Support Application Engineers in the preparation and delivery of technical training programs for customers, partners, and internal teams.
• Assist in organizing training sessions, preparing training equipment, materials, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical support during training activities, workshops, and learning events at the Handtmann Experience Center and customer sites.
• Coordinate with Application Engineers to ensure the effective execution of training programs throughout the APAC region.

Regional technical support

• Provide second-level technical support to subsidiaries and sales and service partners throughout APAC.

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, control-related, and machine-operational issues through remote and on-site support.

• Support machine installations, commissioning, demonstrations, customer trials, and trade shows.

• Coordinate complex technical cases with the regional team and Handtmann headquarters in Germany.

• Document technical cases, training activities, customer feedback, and recurring improvement opportunities.

• Provide general technical support and advice subsidiaries and sales partners on technical questions

Documentation/ administrative

• Ensure comprehensive documentation of all activities and customer interactions
• Maintain the technical readiness, condition, and documentation of the HEC training ma chines.

Qualifications:

• Apprenticeship or formal education in the technical sector (e.g. electrician, mechatronics engineer or comparable technical apprenticeship)

• Additional qualifications as a master craftsman, technician, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant professional experience

• Relevant professional experience in technical support, preferably in the food industry or related machinery, including general knowledge of machines and applications in the food industry

• Experience with extensive business travel, ideally within the APAC region, is an advantage.

• Conceptual planning skills and enthusiasm for new challenges

• Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of additional Asian languages or German is an advantage

• Positive, customer-oriented attitude and team spirit

• Passion for the food market and eagerness to learn and grow

• Ability to work independently and proactively with a strong sense of responsibility
