Technical Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Technical Engineer to join our construction team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, reviewing engineering drawings and specifications, coordinating with site teams and consultants, and ensuring that technical activities are completed in accordance with project requirements, approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Provide technical support and guidance to site engineers and project teams.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams on technical matters.
• Prepare and review shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, RFIs, and technical reports.
• Identify technical issues and coordinate with relevant departments to develop appropriate solutions.
• Ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings and project specifications.
• Monitor and follow up on technical submissions and approvals.
• Assist in resolving site technical issues and coordinate necessary corrective actions.
• Conduct site inspections and verify that work is executed as per approved drawings and specifications.
• Review quantities, materials, and technical requirements when required.
• Maintain proper records of drawings, technical documents, approvals, and revisions.
• Coordinate with the planning, QA/QC, HSE, procurement, and construction teams.
• Attend technical meetings with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and project management.
• Ensure compliance with relevant UAE regulations, project standards, and company procedures.
• Provide regular technical updates to the Project Manager and management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in the construction or contracting industry.
• UAE/GCC construction experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction procedures.
• Experience in preparing technical documentation, RFIs, shop drawings, and material submittals.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good English communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with consultants and main contractors.
• Knowledge of UAE construction standards and authority requirements.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• UAE driving license is an advantage.
