Technical Engineer (Electronics Component Parts)

About the role

Technical Engineer (Electronics Component Parts) responsible for training new employees on general product knowledge, attending customer meetings to handle quality enquiries and promote product development, liaising with Head Office and ASEAN subsidiaries on Quality Assurance and Research and Development matters, and providing technical support to subsidiaries and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Train new employees on general knowledge of products as part of the orientation programme
• Attend customer meetings with sales personnel to handle enquiries on quality issues, promote product development, and introduce new products
• Liaise with Head Office and ASEAN subsidiaries on Quality Assurance matters, including Research and Development
• Respond to customer queries via email, telephone, or video conference and provide prompt technical support to ASEAN subsidiaries and customers
• Manage, maintain, and communicate the training schedule/calendar for ASEAN subsidiaries and conduct basic product-knowledge training for new entrants
• Develop educational materials for new and innovative training programs
• Travel to ASEAN subsidiaries, exhibitions, and customers as required; be available for local and overseas travel at short notice when business exigency demands
• Support customer acquisition and expand sales activities
• Organize the contents of the orientation programme and support sales personnel during customer visits on technical matters
• Ensure obsolete (EOL) goods are properly recorded and disposed of

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electronic components
• English: Conversational level (spoken and written)
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
• Able to travel overseas as required; valid driving license
• Experience with electrolytic capacitors (advantage)
• Japanese language skills (advantage)
